Although
the growing season for Balaton Cherries
is brief, a farmer's work is continuous
and the seasons often dictate what
must be accomplished. In winter, the
trees are carefully pruned and readied
to brave harsh temperatures and a
thick insulation of snow. The lengthening
days of spring give us time to enjoy
pure, white cherry blossoms while
the long, hot days of summer, paired
with cool nights, provide a perfect
environment to harvest blossomed trees
laden with delicious fruit. Fall is
when each tree is fertilized and the
farm is put away for another season.
